DESCRIPTION:Abstract\n\nMatters of the Mind – What impact are modern tech
 nologies having on our brain? Can we use psychedelic drugs to treat psychi
 atric disorders?\nOur Body – Should we be able to design our babies? Wha
 t has the most influence in modifying our body: attitude or diet?\nChemist
 ry & Physics – What is so important about the water on Mars? How is nano
 technology influencing our lives?\nPlanet Earth – How do you survive\, a
 nd do research\, in the Antarctic? Can massive earthquakes occur without u
 s knowing?\n\nThe festival will take place in 16 different venues across L
 ondon\, hosting talks from over 30 speakers every evening for the three ni
 ghts. In total we intend to have 300 talks across the festival and expect 
 to host about 10\,000 attendees.\nKey speakers this year include Professor
  Lord Robert Winston\, Professor Molly Stevens\, Baroness Susan Greenfield
 \, Dr Lucie Green\, Guardian correspondents Suzi Gage and Alok Jha\, Profe
 ssor Sir Simon Wessely\, and Professor Stuart Allan with many more to be c
 onfirmed. There will also be some light relief on hand from acclaimed Belg
 ian comedian Lieven Scheire and mathematician-cum-comedian Matt Parker.\nT
