 t in humanitarian technology.  In this talk he will discuss his vision fo
 r the future of this space covering such topics as crowd sourcing\, multit
 asking\, big data\, data science\, open data – and how emerging technolo
 gies in these areas are reshaping response to crisis including floods\, hu
 rricanes\, earthquakes and poverty.\nSpeaker biography\nDr Patrick Philipp
 e Meier is Director of Social Innovation at the Qatar Computing Research I
 nstitute\nDr Meier is an internationally recognized thought leader on the 
 application of new technologies for humanitarian response. He previously c
 o-directed the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative’s Program on Crisis Mappi
 ng and served as Director of Crisis Mapping at Ushahidi. Dr. Meier has giv
 en talks at the White House\, United Nations\, Google\, Stanford\, Mobile 
 World Congress\, PopTech\, TTI/Vanguard and several TEDx’s.  He was rec
 ently elected a Bellagio/PopTech Rockefeller Foundation fellow.\nFollow Dr
