Cybersecurity R&D includes a wide range of multidisciplinary topics, and researchers, industry, and funding agencies worldwide have expended significant effort to establish R&D strategic priorities in this field. After several years of effort, progress has been made. The workshop will focus the discussion in three areas.

  1. The first part of the workshop will address efforts led by governments and other organizations in the US and Europe to define R&D strategies and strategic initiatives.
  2. The second part of the workshop will be dedicated to work on Trust Evidence as an example of industry/academia collaboration on topics associated with technical trust and relevant for cybersecurity. The goal of TE research is to define mechanisms to enable collection, evaluation, and processing of data that enables participants to enable risk-based trust posture in today’s dynamic computing environment.
  3. The final part of the workshop will be dedicated to collaboration models in cybersecurity R&D, focusing on work of Cybersecurity Centers and other mechanisms of collaboration in cybersecurity.
