DESCRIPTION:Sir Thomas Hughes-Hallett\nIn September 2012\, Sir Thomas was a
 ppointed Executive Chair of the Institute of Global Health Innovation at I
 mperial College London. He had previously been Chief Executive of Marie Cu
 rie Cancer Care for twelve years. In April\, he became a Trustee of the Ki
 ng’s Fund.\nTom attended Oxford University where he read Modern History 
 before qualifying as a Barrister.  From there he spent 22 years in the ba
 nking profession\, firstly as Chief Executive of Enskilda Corporate\, then
  as Chairman of Robert Fleming Securities. \nIn December 2010\, he was ap
 pointed Chair of the Independent Philanthropy Review\, a collaboration of 
 voluntary and private sector bodies identifying ways to achieve a step-cha
 nge in charitable giving. He is also Chairman of the End of Life Care Impl
 ementation Advisory Board\, Chair of the Palliative Care Funding Review fo
 r adults and children in England and a trustee of Esmée Fairbairn Foundat
 ion.\nTom has formerly been Chairman of English Churches Housing Group and
  the Michael Palin Centre for Stammering Children\, a Director of the Nati
 onal Council for Palliative Care and a Special Trustee of Great Ormond Str
 eet Hospital.\nHe was knighted in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2012
 .
