DESCRIPTION:In 2011\, a small team of programmers at Lionhead Studios w
orked on an R&D project exploring Kinect and Artificial Reality. The aim
was to develop a believable mixed-reality ‘virtual pet’ experience. T
hey used AR tags to place a virtual creature in the world\, and Kinect to
allow the user to interact with it. This talk describes what they learnt
from the experience and the technical hurdles which had to be overcome.\
