f Brian May’s 48\,000 word PhD thesis\, zodiacal dust originates from th
e tails of comets and asteroid collisions forming  disk shaped zodiacal c
louds that can sometimes be seen with the naked eye as a triangular glow a
bove the horizon just before sunrise or after sunset.\nBrian’s thesis wa
s put on hold while he found fame as guitarist in one of Britain’s most
successful bands of the past three decades\, Queen. Thirty-six years later
\, in August 2007\, Brian returned to the College’s South Kensington Cam

hich demonstrates that the dust clouds orbit in the same direction as plan
ets within our solar system.\nTickets for this lecture are £10 if you boo
