This five-week course gives an introduction to Mindfulness for health and well-being. Mindfulness has been shown to reduce stress, increase emotional resilience, and promote a genuine sense of joy.

A structured course of this length allows participants to learn Mindfulness meditation. It also gives support to help practice meditation in daily life.

The course is led by Hogetsu Baerndal, Chaplain and Mindfulness teacher at Imperial’s Multi-Faith Centre.

To fully participate those attending will need to practice the meditations each day between the weekly sessions. No previous experience is needed. The final session will take the form of short one-to-one conversations with Hogetsu.

Hogetsu follows a Japanese Zen meditation practice. She trained as a yoga and meditation teacher with Julian Daizan Skinner Roshi, the founder of Zenways in London. She is a certified registered Meditation & Mindfulness teacher (RMT)200 and qualified to train Zenways Meditation Mindfulness teacher(accredited by the International Mindfulness Teachers Association) and a certified Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT)200.

When signing up for this course, please only do so if you know you can attend all sessions. Each session builds on the previous one. The daily half-hour meditation homework is essential to experience the full benefits of mindfulness.

We always have a waiting list so make sure you only sign up if you really can make it.
