SUMMARY:Remote Sensing of Greenhouse Gases
DESCRIPTION:Abstract:\nRemote sensing of greenhouse gases from satellites a
 nd ground-based platforms has become a tool to examine the processes of th
 e carbon cycle on the global and local scale. I will review the radiative 
 transfer and spectroscopic methods that enable remote sensing measurements
  with high precision and accuracy. I will showcase some of our recent resu
 lts collected during field-campaigns at greenhouse gas emission hotspot su
 ch as the Upper Silesian Coal Basin\, and at Mt. Etna volcano. Further\, I
  will touch on recent findings and new concepts in satellite applications.
