Dr Katie Doores

Katie received her PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Oxford in 2008 studying carbohydrate chemistry. She then moved to The Scripps Research Institute California for her postdoctoral studies to work with Dennis Burton where she studied HIV glycobiology and HIV broadly neutralising antibodies. In June 2013, Katie was awarded an MRC Career Development Award and moved to King’s College London to start her research lab.

In 2017 Katie was selected as a member of the EMBO Young Investigator Programme. Katie’s research lab is interested in neutralising antibody responses against pathogenic viruses with application to vaccine development. Since March 2020, Katie’s lab has turned its attention to studying antibody responses to SARS-CoV-2 infection and COVID-19 vaccination.
