SUMMARY:Using systems biology to crack the allergy code: how does therapy
 ‘switch off’ allergy?
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the next Inflammation\, Repair and Development semi
nar to hear from Dr Anya Jones speaking on ‘Using systems biology to cr
ack the allergy code: how does therapy ‘switch off’ allergy?’. This
is a hybrid seminar with in-person attendance at G16 SAF or streamed onlin
e on Teams.\nSpeaker\nDr Anya Jones is a computational biologist at the Te
lethon Kids Institute and Adjunct Research Fellow at the University of Wes
tern Australia (UWA). Her PhD focused on the immunoinflammatory mechanisms
underlying severe virus-induced respiratory disease in early childhood. D
r Jones is pioneering research targeted towards identification of strategi
es for allergic disease prevention and potential to improve success of cur
rent treatments. Her research is anchored in systems biology\, with the un
derlying concept that immune responses involve complex interactions betwee
n multiple genes that do not function in isolation\, but rather in large n
 etworks that drive disease processes.
