Dr Rachel Edgar

Biography

I completed my PhD in 2011 at the University of Cambridge, investigating the kinetics of viral transmission between cells, then pursued my interest in circadian biology as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Cambridge Institute of Metabolic Science and the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology. In 2018, I was awarded a Royal Society-Wellcome Trust Sir Henry Dale Fellowship and established a research group at Imperial College London. Our current focus is on the intersection of biological timing, homeostasis and infectious disease, and the translational applications of this research in combatting viral infections.
