AI and infectious disease modelling
As the world recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic, the constant threat of the next one looms large. Mathematical and statistical modelling have always been integral in understanding infection dynamics and control. In this talk, I will outline some of the major approaches used and highlight where I think AI can yield new breakthroughs. Drawing from my involvement in various health emergencies throughout my career, I will provide a personal perspective based on my own research.
