DESCRIPTION:Publishing with the Nature Portfolio\nToday’s journal landsc
 ape can be overwhelming when seeking for a suitable place to publish your 
 scientific research in. Here\, I provide a journal overview of the Nature 
 Portfolio and with practical guidance for navigating the scientific publis
 hing process. I will introduce the structure and editorial scope of variou
 s journals\, highlighting how each title differs in selectivity\, impact\,
  and community focus. Focusing on Nature Microbiology\, I will provide a b
 rief introduction of the editorial team\, our submission volume\, and deci
 sion‑making principles. Next\, I will walk authors through the publicati
 on workflow—from choosing the right journal and crafting an effective co
 ver letter to understanding editorial assessment\, peer review\, common re
 asons for rejection\, and best practices for revisions. The session aims t
 o demystify the editorial process and empower researchers to communicate t
 heir findings more effectively.\nAbout the speaker \n​Julie studied Bio
 chemistry at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen in Germany. She co
 mpleted her Ph.D. studies in the lab of Noam Stern-Ginossar at the Weizma
 nn Institute of Science\, Rehovot\, Israel. There\, she addressed how Infl
 uenza A virus induces host shutoff and investigated the functions of long 
 non-coding RNAs that are encoded by the human cytomegalovirus. Julie joine
 d the Nature Microbiology team in September 2020 and is based in the Berl
 in office. Since 2023\, she has been an Advisory Editor for npj Viruses.\
