SUMMARY:CumbriaMed Research Webinar – “How Bioengineering Can Improve C
 are”
DESCRIPTION:The PCSM Research Hub invites you to join us for the next editi
on of the CumbriaMed Research Webinar Series\, which showcases leading hea
lth researchers working in and with Cumbria. Each session features two exp
ert speakers and a live Q&A. The series is open to staff\, patients\, rela
tives\, and the public\; all are welcome.\nTopic: “How Bioengineering Ca
 n Improve Care”\nDate: Thursday 28 May 2026\nTime: 12:30–13:30\nLocati

\nSpeakers:\n\n\n\nMr Harry Tustin\nConsultant Ear\, Nose and Throat Surge
on\, North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust \n“3D Printing
of Ear Bones and New Hearing Devices”\nHarry is an ENT surgeon at NCIC w
hose work includes 3D-printed temporal bones to support the planning of co
mplex ear surgery. He has also been recognised for work on a new conductio
n aid for glue ear\, so his talk will show how bioengineering can support
both surgical care and hearing treatment.\n\n\nProfessor Rylie Green\nProf
essor and Head of the Department of Bioengineering\, Imperial College Lond
on\n“Application of Bionic Devices in Healthcare”\nRylie leads researc
h on advanced materials and bioelectronic devices designed to work more ef
fectively with the body. Her work includes neuroprosthetics\, bioelectroni
cs and regenerative medicine\, helping turn engineering ideas into technol
ogies that could improve treatment and patient care.\n\n\n\n\nHosted by:
PCSM Research Hub\nFunded by: NIHR Imperial Biomedical Research Centre (B
RC)\nThe Pears Cumbria School of Medicine is a collaboration between Imper
