DESCRIPTION:Stacy Dowding\nStacy will reflect on her career journey in engi
 neering and what has continued to motivate her over more than 30 years in 
 the profession. Her expertise spans urban streets and rural highway networ
 ks\, across government\, consultancy and contractor organisations\, coveri
 ng design\, construction and business development.\nStacy will share her d
 ifferent experiences in the industry and how finding a passion for her wor
 k has shaped her perspective provided a ‘guiding light’ for her career
 . Her session will offer a personal perspective on persistence\, collabora
 tion and supporting others as your career evolves. Drawing on lessons from
  complex programmes and leadership roles\, she will talk about the role en
 gineers can play in shaping healthier\, safer and more liveable places\, a
 nd why creating better streets and public spaces continues to matter so mu
 ch to her.\nSpeaker bio\nStacy is a Technical Director\, Fellow and Charte
 red Civil Engineer of the Institution of Civil Engineers\, with over 30 ye
 ars’ experience leading the technical delivery of multidisciplinary tran
 sport projects. She has extensive experience managing multiple multidiscip
 linary teams and projects simultaneously\, delivering high-quality outcome
 s within tight deadlines and budgets\, and developing honest\, trustworthy
  relationships with clients.\nOver the past 10 years\, Stacy has focused o
 n active travel\, working across the full project lifecycle\, from concept
  and stakeholder engagement through to detailed design and implementation.
 \nStacy’s work has included high-profile programmes such as the London 2
 012 Olympics\, Thames Tideway and Kingston Mini-Holland and she is current
 ly supporting Active Travel England. She is also involved in business deve
 lopment and work winning\, and leads WSP’s cross-discipline Active Trave
 l Strategy\, helping to align expertise across the business to deliver inn
 ovative\, high-quality outcomes.\nAlongside her technical and leadership r
 oles\, Stacy has made a significant contribution to the profession through
  mentoring\, professional development and industry networks. She is a form
 er Board Member and current volunteer with Women in Transport\, a Professi
 onal Reviewer for the Institution of Civil Engineers supporting colleagues
  working towards professional qualifications and was recognised in 100 Wom
 en in Cycling 2025 for her contribution within active travel.
