SUMMARY:Mechanistic insight into the function of the human CDK-activating k
 inase
DESCRIPTION:\nWe are pleased to welcome Dr Basil Greber\, whose research fo
cuses on elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying DNA repair and tr
anscription using advanced structural biology techniques. Dr Greber’s wo
rk leverages cutting-edge cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) to investigat
e large macromolecular assemblies and their roles in maintaining genome in
tegrity.\nIn this seminar\, Dr Greber will present insights into the struc
ture and function of key protein complexes involved in nucleotide excision
repair (NER)\, a critical pathway responsible for detecting and repairing
DNA damage. Dysfunction in this pathway is closely linked to human diseas
e\, including cancer\, emphasising the importance of understanding these p
 rocesses at a molecular level.\n
