SUMMARY:Medical innovations from the genome revolution: liquid biopsies
DESCRIPTION:The Institute of Global Health Innovation and the Department of
Bioengineering are delighted to host a guest lecture by Professor Stephen
Quake\, one of the world’s most distinguished bioengineers.\nIn this ta
lk\, Professor Quake will draw on his pioneering work in microfluidics\, g
enomics\, and molecular diagnostics to explore how the genomic revolution
is transforming clinical medicine through liquid biopsies and what that me
ans for the future of disease detection and patient care.\nAbout the speak
er\nProfessor Stephen Quake is the Lee Otterson Professor of Bioengineerin
g and Applied Physics at Stanford University. He has received numerous awa
rds for his contributions to science and is one of only two dozen scientis
ts elected to all three National Academies.\nPreviously he was the Head of
Science at the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (2022-2025)\, founding co-presi
dent of the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub (2016-2022)\, Investigator of the Howar
