 ch) – Quantum simulators: a pointilist perspective on many-body physics
DESCRIPTION:\nTitle: Quantum simulators: a pointilist perspective on many-b
 ody physics\n\n\n\n\nAbstract: This talk reviews recent progress in cold a
 tom simulations of correlated electron systems. These experiments feature 
 high tunability of microscopic Hamiltonians and yield novel snapshots of m
 any-body states with single-particle resolution. We discuss several new in
 sights revealed by these experiments alongside their theoretical interpret
 ations. Beginning with the Fermi-Hubbard model on the square lattice\, we 
 examine how recent experiments in optical lattice emulators suggest the ex
 istence of a single\, doping-dependent energy scale that determines both t
 he static correlations and dynamical responses of these systems. We then r
 eview the recent experimental demonstration of magnetically mediated pairi
 ng in mixed-dimensional configurations. Turning to frustrated geometries\,
  we explore kinetic magnetism on triangular lattices in the strongly inter
 acting regime relevant to moiré TMDC materials. We detail the formation o
 f magnetic polarons and multi-particle bound states\, highlighting how the
 y have been successfully probed using quantum gas microscopes and Rydberg 
 arrays. Finally\, we review evidence for a fractionalized phase arising fr
 om kinetic magnetism in the Fermi-Hubbard model on a triangular lattice\, 
 concluding with prospects for its experimental investigation.\n\n\n\n\nNot
