DESCRIPTION:\n\nWhat are the sustainability impacts of digital research? Us
 ing GPUs\, high-performance computing\, or data-heavy workflows\, or writi
 ng research software\, do you ever wonder where the biggest emissions come
  from and how they can be reduced without compromising research quality or
  speed? This training helps turn these questions into practical decisions\
 , giving participants a clear route to understand and reduce the carbon im
 pact of day-to-day digital research activities. \n\nThe training is targe
 ted at any researchers and digital research technical professionals that u
 se computing and digital resources in their work. Over a focused 4-hour se
 ssion combining instructor-led teaching with hands-on exercises\, particip
 ants will learn how to estimate and reduce emissions across common digital
  research activities. The course covers core sustainability concepts\, int
 roduces approaches for estimation\, and uses case studies to identify high
 -impact interventions in different scenarios. By the end\, attendees will 
 be able to assess carbon-intensive steps in their own workflows and apply 
 practical methods and tools to cut emissions.\n\n\nThe course will be deli
 vered 10:00-15:00 with lunch provided.\n\n
