SUMMARY:ICB CDT Lab of the Future Hackathon
DESCRIPTION:The ICB CDT has launched an ideas-generating Hackathon for team
 s of Imperial graduates undertaking Masters\, PhD or PDRA positions to dev
 elop lab of the future tools and technologies – which will address the c
 hanging nature of the modern lab.\nThe Lab of the Future Hackathon will ha
 ve a physical prototyping element\, with the ICB CDT providing each team w
 ith £500 of consumables\, mentoring\, workshops and access to prototyping
  equipment until it culminates in a face-to-face grand final at the end of
  November\, where the winners will be chosen by an expert panel of judges.
  The grand final will be part of a day of panel discussions\, showcase eve
 nts and technology demonstrations from leading academics\, global Industry
  partners and start-ups.\nTeams will be challenged to develop novel tools 
 and technologies employing industry 4.0 breakthroughs such as robotics\, a
 rtificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) that will revolution
 ise the state-of-the-art within research labs leading to novel R&D workflo
 ws.\nThe prototypes developed during this competition have the potential t
 o unlock rapid design-test cycles with the advances and biological insight
  generated being applicable to academia\, industry and medicine\, ultimate
 ly tackling societal challenges.\nTo find out further information about th
