DESCRIPTION:Asthma is the most common long-term illness in children\, affec
 ting their daily lives and placing a significant burden on young people\, 
 their families and healthcare services. \nChildhood asthma is shaped by bo
 th biology and environment. As researchers develop more targeted treatment
 s for severe asthma\, there is also growing recognition of the impact that
  environmental exposures can have on children’s lung health. \nIn this s
 eminar\, two experts will talk about their research on preventing and trea
 ting paediatric asthma and answer your questions: \n\nProfessor Frank Kell
 y CBE holds the inaugural Humphrey Battcock Chair in Community Health and 
 Policy\, within Imperial’s School of Public Health and is Director of Im
 perial’s Environmental Research Group. Professor Kelly will talk about h
 is research on environmental determinants of asthma and exposure monitorin
 g.\nProfessor Sejal Saglani is Professor of Paediatric Respiratory Medicin
 e in Imperial’s National Heart and Lung Institute and Director of Imperi
 al’s Centre for Paediatrics and Child Heath . She is an Honorary Consult
 ant in Paediatric Respiratory Medicine at the Royal Brompton Hospital. Pro
 fessor Saglani will talk about her research on advancing new treatments fo
