SUMMARY:“Material Intelligence” – Textile Intersections Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Join us forMaterial Intelligence\, an exhibition presented as p
art of the Textiles Intersections 2026 Conference.\nThe exhibition explor
es a wide range of interpretations of the relationship between materials a
nd intelligence. From the materials used in textile production and fabrica
tion\, to the exploration of ‘Intelligence’ as contextualized by recen
t and historical conversations about AI\, the theme also extends to other-
than-human forms of intelligence\, including those found in plant and anim
al life.\nThe exhibited works engage with and expand upon these critical p
erspectives through questions of technology\, human–machine collaboratio
n\, and the agency of non-human agents\, both biological and synthetic. Th
ey also consider the ways in which commons are created and sustained throu
gh craft traditions\, communities\, and the transmission of knowledge thro
ugh material practices.\nAbout the Exhibition\nThe exhibition is free and
 open to the public.\nOpening Hours\n\nThursday – Saturday\, 17-19 Septem
