SUMMARY:Prof. Anthony G. Evans Workshop on Ceramics
DESCRIPTION:\nJoin researchers from across the UK for two days of discussio
 n on the latest developments in ceramics\, their applications and the futu
 re direction of the field. \nThe Prof Anthony G. Evans Workshop on Ceramic
 s will bring together experts from across the field to explore current adv
 ances in ceramics\, with presentations spanning processing\, properties an
 d modelling. The workshop will provide an open forum for knowledge exchang
 e\, discussion of emerging areas of research and opportunities to develop 
 new collaborations across the UK ceramics community.\nThe workshop forms p
 art of the Royal School of Mines’ 175th anniversary celebrations. The Ce
 ntre for Advanced Structural Ceramics (CASC) has been based at the Royal S
 chool of Mines since its establishment in 2008. The workshop is named in h
 onour of Professor Anthony G. Evans\, one of the Royal School of Mines’ 
 most distinguished alumni\, whose work has had a lasting influence on the 
 ceramics research community.\nAlongside the invited presentations\, the wo
 rkshop will include a poster session\, providing an opportunity for studen
 ts and researchers to share their work and discuss their research with oth
 er attendees.\nThe workshop will take place on 14–15 December 2026 at th
 e Royal School of Mines\, Imperial College London. Registration is free\, 
 and all students\, researchers and industry professionals with an interest
  in ceramics are welcome to attend.\nAbout Centre for Advanced Structural 
 Ceramics\n\n\n\nCASC started in July 2008 with EPSRC funding (£5.5M) for 
 a five-year programme. EPSRC funding ended in June 2013\, and the Centre c
 ontinues to thrive. The CASC has a large number of projects collaborating 
 directly with industrial partners from the UK and abroad as well as resear
 ch co-funded by goverment agencies. An Industrial consortium has been set 
 up to build on CASC’s early success\, enable its sustainability and to d
 evelop long-term and fruitful relationships between CASC-associated academ
