 s\nCo-hosted by the Grantham Institute – Climate Change and the Environm
 ent and the Delegation of the European Union to the UK\nIn a world facing 
 intensifying climate impacts\, geopolitical uncertainty\, and growing pres
 sures on energy systems and economies\, the need for collective action on 
 climate change is more pressing now than ever. Devastating wildfires\, dro
 ughts\, and other extreme weather events are putting the spotlight on the 
 need for stronger adaptation action and efforts to limit global temperatur
 e rise\, while there is growing recognition of the opportunities that a cl
 ean economy can offer in terms of enhanced energy security and prosperity.
  Yet\, action to date falls short.\n​Against this backdrop\, COP31 provi
 des a crucial opportunity to double down on international cooperation on c
 limate and build momentum behind the implementation of the Paris Agreement
 . It offers a chance to reinforce the global commitment to a safer\, more 
 resilient and prosperous future\, while advancing real world climate solut
 ions that support energy security\, economic stability and sustainable dev
 elopment.\n​As we count down to COP31\, this event will bring together p
 olitical leaders\, climate negotiators\, policy experts\, business leaders
  and scientists to consider the priorities for stronger climate action at 
 the upcoming UN climate conference and beyond.\nThe event will feature a p
 anel debate followed by a networking reception\, providing an opportunity
