SUMMARY:Mathematical Physics Seminar (October 28th) – Ginestra Bianconi (
 QMUL) – Gravity from Entropy
DESCRIPTION:\nTitle: Gravity from Entropy\n\n\n\n\n\nAbstract: Gravity from
Entropy (GfE) is a recently proposed theory deriving gravity from the GfE
action coupling matter fields and spacetime geometry [1]. The fundamental
idea is to associate the Lorentzian treat the spacetime metrics as  quan
tum operators. The GfE Lagrangian is given by a novel Geometric Quantum Re
lative Entropy (GQRE) between the spacetime metric and the metric induced
by matter fields and curvature. In doing so the GfE theory elevates the in
terplay between matter and geometry as the fundamental aspect of gravity t
o be reflected in its statistical mechanics and information theory action
(the GfE action).\nThe resulting modified Einstein equations recover Gener
al Relativity with vanishing cosmological constant in the low-coupling reg
ime. The theory introduces a new physical field\, the G-field\, associated
with an emergent positive cosmological constant\, while preserving second
-order field equations. Its extension\, Λ-Gravity from Entropy (ΛGfE) [2
 ]\, includes both a constant and a dynamical dark-energy contribution\, wi
th potential implications for cosmological tensions.\nThe GfE framework al
so provides a first-principles derivation of the area law associated to th
e Schwarzschild  metric [3]. Moreover\, the thermodynamics of the GgE cos
mology is consistent with the second law of thermodynamics while admits a
decreasing  GQRE\, potentially providing insights into the emergence of n
on-uniform structures [4].\nThese results open new perspectives for invest
igating gravity\, cosmology\, and the dark sector within the GfE field-the
oretic framework\, whose quantization might provide further insights into
 quantum gravity.\n\nReferences\n[1] G. Bianconi\, Physical Review D 111\,
