DESCRIPTION:Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is one of the greatest threats t
 o health in the 21st century\, expected to cause 10 million deaths every y
 ear by 2050.\nThe UK has been leading the way in research and policy – f
 rom the final Jim O’Neill report in 2016\, to the government’s 20-y
 ear vision and 5-year action plans. But there is still much to do. By us
 ing context-appropriate innovation and technology with pioneering social s
 ciences we are improving on preventing infection and better managing infec
 tion if it does occur\, and optimising antimicrobial use when drugs are pr
 escribed.\nIn this Forum\, we will explore the challenges\, needs\, and ne
 w innovations in combating AMR through a multidisciplinary approach. The e
 vent will feature researchers from across the Antimicrobial Research Coll
 aborative (ARC@Imperial)\, Imperial’s Cross-Faculty Network of Excellenc
 e\, including from the NIHR Health Protection Research Unit in Healthcare
