 r (SCD) and each year approximately 350 babies are born with SCD in the UK
 .\nOn Thursday 31st October\, Dr Fédéric Piel from Imperial College Medi
 cal School and John James OBE from the Sickle Cell Society will give a tal
 k entitled ‘The Colour of Pain: the facts and the feelings’’. The ta
 lk will focus on Sickle Cell Disorder. So common a condition\, such a pain
 ful and destructive disease and yet largely unknown to the public.\nWhat i
 s Sickle Cell? sicklecellsociety.org\nAn exhibition exploring the experien
 ce of Sickle Cell Disorder\, will run from 31st October – 12th December 
 in the CLCC Gallery. The experience of suffering from pain\, extreme fatig
 ue and even death caused by SCD is given a voice through a range of multi
 media works.\nAll welcome\, no advance booking required.
