SUMMARY:NIHR Imperial BRC Infection and AMR Theme Event
DESCRIPTION:The NIHR Imperial Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) is a transla
tional research partnership between Imperial College London and Imperial C
ollege Healthcare NHS Trust. It provides the infrastructure – human and
technological – to conduct early stage experimental medicine within our
Academic Health Science Centre. The BRC aims to exploit the scientific pow
er of the College’s Faculties of Medicine\, Engineering and Natural Scie
nces\, and provide proof-of-principle of new breakthroughs within the clin
ical setting. We collaborate extensively with industry\, other funding age
ncies\, and with colleagues across the NIHR infrastructure. The BRC Infec
tion and AMR theme provides a structure to underpin work in bacteriology\,
  HIV immunology\, retrovirology\, point of care diagnostics\, healthcare a
ssociated infections and antimicrobial resistance\, asthma\, respiratory i
nfection\, global health\, and the development of modelling methodology. T
he approach is to integrate fundamental discovery science\, clinical medic
ine and epidemiology with the aim to treat or prevent human diseases of gl
obal importance. This event will showcase the wide variety of projects cu
rrently funded by the Infection and AMR Research theme\, and provide detai
ls on BRC funding opportunities.\nPlease register here to book your place
