 the theme The Role of Science and Technology in International Development.
  The conference aims to inspire action amongst young Imperial College stud
 ents who are familiar with the field of science and engineering\, and to i
 ncrease awareness of the increasingly important role which innovations pla
 y in International Development. With leading figures speaking from across 
 academia and government\, it will be an engaging day with thought-provokin
 g discussions and seminars.\n \nSpeakers\nProfessor Alan Fenwick OBE\, Pr
 ofessor of Tropical Parasitology\nDr Kirsty Newman\, UK’s Department for
  International Development\nDr Calum Nicholson\, a social anthropology and
  philosophy graduate student at Swansea University\, and was previously ba
 sed at the University of Oxford\nDr Alexander Betts\, is University Lectur
 er (Associate Professor) in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies in the De
 partment of International Development\, at the University of Oxford\nDr Al
 lam Ahmed\, the Founding President of World Association for Sustainable De
 velopment (WASD) and has worked extensively for the World Bank.\n \nOrgan
