SUMMARY:The Role of RNA Structure in Replication of Influenza and Coronavir
 uses
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the latest instalment of the Wright-Fleming
Institute Infection and Immunity Seminar Series.\nDr David Bauer (Francis
Crick Institute) will deliver a talk on ‘The Role of RNA Structure in Re
plication of Influenza and Coronaviruses’.\nThe seminar will be hosted v
ia Microsoft Teams. All are welcome to attend.\nAbout the speaker\nDavid i
s a new group leader at the Francis Crick Institute\, where he heads the R
NA Virus Replication Laboratory. His work focuses on how virus RNA structu
re affects replication\, transcription\, and immune activation. Originally
from New York\, David carried out his doctoral work at the Wellcome Trust
Centre for Human Genetics and received an NSF postdoctoral fellowship to
study RNA polymerases and transcription using single-molecule methods with
Achilles Kapanidis at Oxford. David then joined Ervin Fodor’s group at
the Dunn School of Pathology in Oxford to study influenza virus transcript
ion\, combining his interests in genomics and RNA.\nJoin the meeting via M
