ical regime\nMany quantum dynamical systems are described by wave packets.
They are highly oscillatory\, highly localised and move in high-dimensio
nal configuration spaces. The governing equation is the time-dependent Sch
rödinger equation in semiclassical scaling. The talk is a guided tour thr
ough the recent Acta Numerica review on numerical computation in this regi
me\, which is joint work with Christian Lubich. We will visit\nsingle Gaus
sian beam approximations\, continuous superpositions of them\, and the so-
called linearised initial value representation.
