SUMMARY:Air quality\, asthma and addressing pollution-related health issues
  with healthcare professionals
DESCRIPTION:Imperial College London’s Environmental Research Group and Po
 licy Forum are pleased to present a public seminar series addressing ‘En
 vironment and health challenges in a changing world’. The first seminar 
 of the six-part series will be hosted by Professor Frank Kelly\, Director 
 of the Environment Research Group\, and will feature talks and a panel dis
 cussion\, followed by a drink’s reception. The theme of the seminar is:\
 n‘Air Quality\, asthma and addressing pollution-related health issues wi
 th health care professionals. A seminar session looking at the health impa
 cts of air pollution and how causation and mitigation can be better commun
 icated through health professionals.’\nSome of the most vulnerable in so
 ciety are being disproportionally impacted by toxic air on a daily basis. 
 In a recent Asthma + Lung UK survey of people living with lung conditions\
 , almost half of all respondents indicated they avoid exercising outdoors 
 when air pollution is worse and almost a third indicated that they avoid h
 olidays in areas where pollution is worse\, while a third don’t leave th
 e house at all.  In this session we will hear first about the impact that
  poor air quality is having on respiratory health of communities across th
 e UK. We will then hear about Ella’s Law\, which is currently being deba
 ted by MPs in the House of Commons and\, if adopted\, could improve air qu
