DESCRIPTION: Cassandra has been working in Science Communication and Public
  Engagement for over 10 years. As Chief Executive of the Martingale Found
 ation\, she oversees all aspects of the charity including communications a
 nd engagement. Communications is an essential part of her work\, ensuring 
 stakeholders are invested in the organisations work\, including pitching t
 o funders\, and engaging with the media. In her previous role at UCL\, her
  work involved communicating with a wide range of stakeholders from patien
 ts with neurological and psychiatric conditions\, to charities such as the
  World Health Organisation\, to leading funders such as Wellcome and UKRI.
  Her work is now focused on social mobility within STEM postgraduate resea
 rch\, providing fully funded Master’s and PhD scholarships in STEM to ta
 lented people from low-socioeconomic backgrounds along with a programme of
  support.\n\nIn this session\, Cassandra will take you through a series of
  exercises to understand how to responsibly communicate your research. Whe
 ther it is your funder\, stakeholders\, students or the wider public\, str
 ong communication skills are vital to strengthen relationships and get you
 r research out there.
