 ate Solutions: An Alumni Journey\nAbstract:\nWhat do biomedical engineerin
 g and climate tech start-ups have in common? How do you compete with one o
 f the world’s largest medical device companies as a small UK start-up\, 
 and how much does it cost? Why might regenerative farming be a powerful so
 lution to the climate crisis? And what leads a biomedical engineer to the 
 starting line of a 4000km cycling race across Europe?\nIn this Inaugural C
 aro Alumni lecture\, I will share my journey from being a student in Imper
 ial College’s first cohort of biomedical engineering undergraduates to b
 ecoming the CFO of Agreena\, one of Europe’s leading climate tech start-
 ups. I’ll explore the circuitous path that led me there\, and why I didn
 ’t launch a venture to compete with Elon Musk instead.\nBiography:\nInge
 borg Dybdal Oie is the CFO of Agreena\, a Danish climate-tech company spe
 arheading the world’s largest soil-carbon program. She was part of the i
 naugural cohort of biomedical engineering undergraduates at Imperial Colle
 ge London\, graduating with an MEng in 2006. She also holds an MSc in Publ
 ic Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.\nHer ca
 reer began as a Medical Device analyst at Goldman Sachs and Jefferies\, fo
 llowed by leadership roles in various medical device and health tech compa
 nies. Her experience spans orthopaedics\, wound care\, surgical robotics\,
  digital technologies for remote patient monitoring and clinical trials\, 
 integrated health systems in emerging markets\, power electronics for the 
 energy transition\, and the application of simulation and AI in ultrasound
  imaging. Today\, Ingeborg also advises multiple start-up companies on s
 trategy\, fundraising\, and scaling across both the healthcare and climate
  sectors.\nIngeborg is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a co-founder of 
 VIA Race\, a challenging 4000km ultra-cycling race across Europe. In her s
 pare time\, she is dedicated to transforming an old farm into a biodiversi
 ty haven and occasionally cycles far.\n
