Professor Matthew Hepworth’s research programme focuses on understanding the innate immune pathways that act to regulate inflammation at mucosal barrier tissue sites. The aims of his research are to delineate the mechanisms through which the innate immune system acts to maintain tissue homeostasis in healthy individuals using both basic and translational approaches. An improved understanding of these immune pathways will lead to the identification of novel therapeutic targets for chronic human inflammatory diseases in which tissue homeostasis is dysregulated, such as IBD and asthma.
Prof Hepworth is visiting the NHLI as part of the NHLI Seminar Series on Monday 6th of October to give a fascinating seminar on “ILC regulatory networks in mucosal barrier tissue microenvironments”. Please join us in the LT1 conference room in the Wolfson Centre from 15:30-16:30 or via the Teams link provided.
Please note: There will be a drinks reception after the seminar in the VPD Loft and opportunities to meet the speaker 1:1 during the day. If you are interested in meeting with Prof Hepworth, please email Saredo (s.elmi1@ic.ac.uk) to schedule a meeting.
