Centre for Cleantech Innovation
The Centre for Cleantech Innovation (CCI) has been set up to support start-ups seeking to develop scalable solutions to the challenges of climate change.
We aim to establish a world-class cluster for innovation and business development, by co-locating start-ups with academia, and deliver market-ready commercial solutions to address climate mitigation, adaptation and anticipation.
Imperial has a long history of success in delivering real businesses and a pipeline of clean tech entrepreneurs. The CCI will seamlessly merge learning with practical and tangible enterprise development in partnership with the best academics, global corporates and innovative companies and will draw on Imperial College London’s world-class facilities, science and engineering knowhow, business expertise and networks.
We currently run the Climate-KIC Accelerator Programme from Imperial's South Kensington campus.
This programme offers support and equity-free funding to start-up teams seeking to develop scalable solutions to the challenges of climate change.
The Centre for Cleantech Innovation provides support to the start-ups in the form of coaching, concept development, business planning and technology specific academic assistance.
The CCI is working with key partners to develop additional initiatives. Further information on this initiative will be posted here in the coming months.
We are grateful to the Mayor of London and the London Sustainable Development Commission, who will be supporting the project as an integral part of the wider clean tech cluster in West London.
