Driving innovations in education

iti picVirtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) may be the next largest stepping stones in technological innovation. The potential impact of these immersive technologies on solving global challenges is becoming apparent in healthcare, engineering and education.

The Immersive Technology Initiative aims to bring together students, researchers and educators from across Imperial College using these technologies in education and research. The initiative will drive innovations in education, training and research through facilitating innovative technology developments and dissemination of research and educational excellence.

At present we are building a network of staff, students and partners. By bringing together fields of expertise from each faculty, we can undertake more robust education experiments and accelerate research.

The Immersive Technology Initiative is a Digital Learning Hub project and part of Imperial’s Learning and Teaching Strategy.
