Students wishing to improve their mathematical problem solving skills in preparation for a university course are able to sign up for a Problem Solving Matters course organised by the Advanced Mathematics Support Programme.

The course is meant for Year 12 students, to help prepare them for the way they will have to think to achieve success in the MAT and other problem-solving mathematics examinations by developing their mathematical thinking and problem solving skills. The course usually consists of three face to face study days, three summer assignments and four online follow-up sessions.

Due to the coronavirus, we are currently creating an online alternative for the first two study days. Further details of this will be posted when they are ready. We have as yet made no decision about the third study day in September/October, but we are monitoring the situation and will take this online also, if necessary.

Please do not hesitate to apply for this course - it will be definitely be running, in a coronavirus-safe manner.
