Students select optional courses subject to rules specified in the Mechanical Engineering Student Handbook,  for example at most three Design and Business courses. Please note that numbers are limited on some optional courses and selection criteria will apply.

Engineering Ethics

Module aims

To remind students, as they undertake their first large-scale group project, of the need to consider ethical issues and the social context of engineering.

ECTS units:  zero.

Learning outcomes

On successfully completing this module, students will be able to:

  • Identify ethical issues related to an engineering project
  • Justify an ethical stance

Contributes to Conduct of Task Assessment for ME3-hDMT

If Business Game is missed students will be given relevant reading material and set a 2000 word essay.
