This event is specifically tailored to the needs of the department’s postdocs. It gives our postdocs an opportunity to explore their career options and focus on their career progression as well as to network with other NHLI postdocs. In the past the day has featured career talks by both new academics and previous postdocs who have chosen to move away from academia. Previous Postdoc Days have included talks by a recently appointed NHLI lecturer (Leo Carlin), a science journalist (Anjana Ahuja) and a Teach First representative (Ollie Longworth), among others.

The day will include sessions on Paths toGroup Leader, The Teaching Route, Careers in Scientific Publishing and a panel discussion with people from biotech, start-up companies and policy makers.
