World Patient Safety Day 2022
What is World Patient Safety Day?
Established in 2019 by the 72nd World Health Assembly, World Patient Safety Day (WPSD) aims to increase public engagement and emphasise the importance of prioritising patient safety on the global agenda, while encouraging action. It takes place annually on 17 September.
For the World Health Organization’s World Patient Safety Day 2022 theme of Medication Safety: Medication Without Harm, the Institute of Global Health Innovation is proud to present a series of videos in support of WHO’s objectives for WPSD.
We explore issues in medication safety through a spotlight on recent Imperial PSTRC research, highlighting the impact of the Medication Safety Challenge globally, and focusing on the need for patient and carer involvement in medication safety.
The World Health Organization’s World Patient Safety Day encourages global and national health organisations as well as patients, families, health workers and health care leaders to show their commitment to patient safety.
