how to apply

Application process

After reading through this application guidance, please complete the online application form. Before you begin, please prepare your personal statement and have access to details of your qualifications and achievements, as progress on the online form cannot be saved.

Deadline for receipt of applications is 23:59 GMT on 07 January 2021. Shortlisted applicants should expect to hear from us by the end of February 2021. Due to volume of applications, we will not be able to respond to all applicants.

Requirements of the online application form

Your nationality/visa status
Since there are nationality/residence eligibility criteria associated with the studentship, we will ask for your nationality and residence status. Please see the eligibility criteria for more information about residence eligibility.

The contact details for two academic referees
Referees will be approached at the stage prior to interview shortlisting. If you have substantial research experience within an employment setting then one of your referees can be an employer who can attest to your research skills, but the other referee must be academic.

Education history with grades, or predicted grades for studies which are still in progress
If predicted grades are not available for undergraduate degrees then overall grades for years one and two of the course can be provided instead.

Summary of research experience
Where relevant, please provide a summary of skills and techniques used.

List your relevant publications in this part of the application form.
