The Faculty of Natural Sciences is committed to pursuing excellence in research and teaching and, ensuring the health and safety of staff, students, visitors, contractors and members of the public who are, or may be, affected by Faculty activities.
Risk assessment of health, safety and environmental hazards and the identification of the relevant control measures, is a vital part of good management.

Faculty Health and Safety Team
The Faculty of Natural Sciences Health and Safety Team advise on health and safety matters across all Departments in the Faculty. The aim is to support the academic mission by coordinating the implementation of College policies consistently and efficiently while ensuring the health and safety of those working for and in Faculty and Department locations.
The team members have a range of experience and technical expertise from different subject areas of scientific research and industry. The team work closely with Departmental appointed safety advisors and the central College support services (Safety, Occupational Health and Fire) to provide competent safety advice. The team members have office locations within the Departments, with some members rotating around different offices during the week.
