Timo Lauteslager

Biography

Photo of Timo LauteslagerTimo Lauteslager followed his undergrad in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Twente, The Netherlands. After performing his research on the functional connectivity of neuronal networks cultured on multi-electrode arrays, he received his BSc degree in 2012. Subsequently he was awarded with a 2 year Erasmus Mundus scholarship from the European Committee. This scholarship allowed him to follow a joint degree master’s programme in Biomedical Engineering, at Czech Technical University and Trinity College Dublin. During his first year he focussed mainly on biosignal processing and medical devices, and in his second year in Dublin he specialized in neural engineering. For his master thesis he modelled the cortical representation of attended speech, to decode attentional selection in a multi-speaker environment from EEG data. In 2014 he received his MSc with distinction from both universities. Timo has joined the Neural Interfaces group at the Centre for Bio-inspired Technology as a PhD candidate in January 2015.

Research Interests

Neural interfaces, neural signal processing, neuroimaging techniques, microwave imaging, ultra-wideband radar imaging, brain-computer interfaces, and cognitive neuroscience.
