Andrea comes from a small village in rural Umbria, Italy. In the AY 2014/15 he obtained his B.Sc. in Bioengineering at the Universita' degli Studi di Pavia (Lombardy, Italy). He continued his research project on the mechanical properties and modelling of the aneurysmal human aortic tissue at the Brunel University London (Uxbridge, London). In September 2015 he joined the University of Surrey (Guildford, Surrey) where he completed his M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering in the AY 2015/16 with a research project on the apoptosis of erythrocytes.
Andrea started his Ph.D. at Imperial joining the EDEN2020 project (Enhanced Drug Delivery Ecosystem for Neurosurgery) in October 2016. His research is focused on the mechanical modelling of soft tissues for predictive purposes related to the Drug Delivery System. Specifically, cerebral white matter and its mechanical behaviour when interacting with fluids.
