I am an EPSRC prize fellow under the mentorship of Dr. Nick Jones. I am interested in finding mathematical solutions to complex issues in vaccinations and public health. Specifically, I am interested in: spatio-temporal forecasts of national and regional vaccine coverage rates; developing latent variable models for the large-scale inference of individuals' vaccination views; estimating disease burdens associated with increases in vaccine hesitancy (and declining coverage); and, determining socio-economic correlates of vaccine coverage and hesitancy.
I work closely with Dr. Heidi Larson who leads the Vaccine Confidence Project. Our recent publication The state of vaccine confidence 2016: global insights through a 67-country survey examines differences in countries' trust in vaccinations. It has received considerable media interest, having been published in Science, Scientific American, the Financial Times, and Le Monde.
