Summary

Electroceramics (MATE70017)

The aims of the course are to study electrical properties (electronic and ionic transport) in crystalline ceramics. By the end of the course, a deep understanding of materials performance and degradation issues in electrochemical devices of batteries, electrolysers, fuel cells and gas sensors will be developed.

Performance of functional materials - Batteries (MATE50002)

The aims of the course are to understand the role of redox reactions in the production and storage of electrical energy, describe rechargeable batteries and their main characteristics, understand the role of crystal structure in the performance of electrode materials, and work on a case study of battery materials.
