  • As National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Senior Investigator, Professor Lalvani advises NIHR and its Health Technology Assessment Board on national clinical research.As a member of the Royal College of Physicians Academic Medicine Committee Professor Lalvani contributes to evaluation & development of clinical academic and research training at the national level. Professor Lalvani has served on Wellcome Trust Infection, Immunity, Tropical Medicine and Public Health funding committees and interview panels for 6 years. He was Chair, European and Developing Countries Trials Partnership (EDCTP) TB Vaccines Funding Committee (2011) and Vice-Chair, EDCTP Senior Fellowships Programme (2012) and a member of the Health Review Board Ireland Clinician Scientists Awards Committee (2012).He regularly carries out peer-review for major funding agencies including the Wellcome Trust, Medical Research Council (UK), National Institute of Health Research, Medical Research Council (Singapore), British Lung Foundation, Fondation Merieux and the Colt Foundation.He regularly carries out peer-review and editorial comment for several learned journals, including Lancet, New Eng J Med, Cell, Cell, BMJ, PLoS Medicine, Am J Resp Crit Care Med, Lancet Infect Dis, Clin Infect Dis, J Immunol, Thorax, J Clin Micro, J Infect Dis, Chest, Eur Resp J.
