Summary

Alex Rabeau is a PhD student in the Department of Life Sciences at Imperial College London. He is also affiliated with the Grantham Institute's Science and Solutions for a Changing Planet DTP.

Supervised by both Dr Joseph Tobias (Imperial College London) and Dr Alex Pigot (University College London), his research is focused around modelling the impacts of environmental change, namely climate change, on biodiversity through the use of avian functional trait data. Trait-based approaches allow for a more quantitative understanding of how species function in their environment and the mechanisms underlying ecological networks.

Prior to joining Imperial, Alex obtained an MSci in Biological Sciences at University College London. His thesis investigated mammalian response to an anthropogenic pressure gradient in Kenya's Maasai Mara region.
