Research interests

Nonlinear Structural Stability

Professor Wadee is looking to recruit new PhD students in the field of nonlinear structural mechanics, in particular he is particularly focusing on metamaterials, thin-walled structures and cable stiffened structures.

My research group's work has been profiled on the ASCE Engineering Mechanics Institute website (Link). We have investigated the following aspects of nonlinear structural mechanics:

  • Nonlinear mechanical systems
  • Geometric approaches to mechanical modelling
  • Coupled instabilities in optimized structures
  • Sandwich structures
